Leave the noise of the bustling city behind as you board a seaplane and take in the impressive aerial views over Hanoi. Fly 45 minutes across rural countryside and towns to Halong Bay before taking a 15 minute scenic flight over Halong bay, Lan Ha bay and Catba island. Called “Bay of Descending Dragons” in Vietnamese, the archipelago of Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site composed of almost 2,000 islands and jungle-clad limestone pillars.

From high up in the sky you will have amazing views over this magnificent landscape of limestone pillars pushing up out of the green waters. See the islands of Cong Do, Ba Ham with their pretty lagoons and fly out to Dau Be on the edge of the Gulf of Tonkin. Then hop aboard a small tender to arrive at Catba island, and be driven to our classic deluxe junk Lagoon Explorer, a beautifully restored traditional wooden junk with a colourful modern finish. For the rest of the day admire the sublime beauty of the limestone karts and explore the bay by kayak, discovering sea caves and secluded bays. Visit a local fish farm and dine on fresh seafood before retiring to your cabin for the night.

On the second day, enjoy the sunrise over Bai Tu Long Bay, followed by a delicious breakfast on the sundeck. Your last excursion before finishing the cruise is to floatting village to explore their daily life and fish farms, this is another highlight of Halong and is reached via a small opening in the rock.

Say goodbye to the crew at the main harbour and take your private transfer about 4 hours back to Hanoi via Haiphong arriving late in the afternoon. End of our service

Day 01: Hanoi - Haiphong - Catba - Lan Ha bay - Halong
Enjoy our luxury transfer for the 4 hour journey to Catba Port. Hop aboard a classic luxury junk Lagoon Explorer, a beautifully restored traditional wooden junk with a colourful modern finish. Admire your first views of the towering islands and rock formations from the sundeck of the boat, where your lunch is served.

For the rest of the day admire the sublime beauty of the limestone karts and explore the bay by kayak, discovering sea caves and secluded bays. Visit a local fish farm and dine on fresh seafood before retiring to your cabin for the night.

Day 02: Halong bay - Catba island - Tuan Chau island - Hanoi
Wake with the sun and watch as the dawn breaks. You might like to take an early morning dip or do a spot of tai chi before breakfast. Then head off to visit the Tunnels Cave, with its amazing limestone formations that have been created over time. Cruise back to the main harbour and transfer to Tuan Chau Marina and relax before your afternoon flight. At 14.00 take a 25 minute scenic flight over Halong.
